Heading to NYC? Checkout These 3 Broadway Shows

broadway showIf you’re planning on taking a trip to New York City this year, there are a few things you need to do. Whether it’s your first trip or your 30th, you need to get a slice of pizza, you need to walk around Central Park, and you need to see a Broadway show.

There are roughly 7,000 stretch SUVs licensed for limo and charter services around the U.S., so hop into a classy ride with your friends or family and head down to Broadway. Here are some of the best Broadway shows you and your family should check out this year:

  • The Book of Mormon — This show might not be for everyone (especially the kids), but if you’re a fan of humor and great theater, this show is a must-see. This musical comedy is about two young Mormon missionaries who travel to Uganda to preach the Mormon religion. That doesn’t sound all that funny when you read it, but when you realize that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are behind it, the masterminds of South Park, you start to understand why everyone is still raving about this show. It’s not all laughs, either, it actually earned a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for Best Musical. Watch this show and enjoy a night full of great fun, amazing music, and uncontrollable laughter.
  • Hamilton — Thankfully, this Broadway show has been out long enough where you don’t have to sell your home to afford tickets. Composer-lyricist-star Lin-Manuel Miranda performs the perfect mix of hip-hop and musical and historical storytelling. Not only is this show entertaining, powerful, and important, its songs will be stuck in your head for a long, long time afterward — and that’s not a bad thing.
  • Mean Girls — Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for the 2004 classic, makes her Broadway debut with this musical adaptation. You and your family will laugh and cringe as The Plastics torment everyone at their high school. Thankfully, the school’s outsiders have started plotting against them for everyone to see. This show is fun, sweet, nostalgic, and amazing. It’s also quite fetch. Sorry.
